Patricia Gail Ray, 70

Patricia Gail Ray, 70, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away June 30, 2024, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho. Patricia was born Oct. 2, 1953, in Fairbanks, Alaska, the daughter of the late Garland Ray and Eileen (Maranta) Ray. 

Patricia attended schools in Leadville, Colo. She worked numerous jobs at a mine in Climax, Colo., on different ranches, and also worked in restaurants. She became certified in asbestos removal, but her main job was road construction, where she received many certificates. Patricia also attended Colorado Community College in Colorado Springs. 

She enjoyed being a mom and her main joy was her son. They traveled around a lot with her jobs so they were able to enjoy many adventures in various different states. Her other joys were her animals whom she loved very much. She enjoyed the outdoors and always was learning new things. Patricia’s family and friends were very important to her. 

In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by two sons, Jack Wilson and Kelly Bowden, and two brothers, Michael Ray and Jeff Ray. 

Survivors include her two sisters, Jacque (Dexter) Ditmars of Salmon, Idaho, and Terri (Rick) Peterson of Kellogg, Idaho; grandson Jack Joseph Wilson of Colorado; granddaughter Esebella Herrman of Phoenix, Ariz.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Silver Valley Worship Center in Smelterville, Idaho.
