Ronald Milton Childs, 86

Ronald “Ron” Milton Childs, 86, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his Kellogg home July 18, 2024. Ronald was born Jan. 30, 1938, in Nampa, Idaho, a son of the late Bert Childs and Ruth (Roberts) Childs. 

Ron moved to the Silver Valley to work as a miner. For many years, he worked at the Hecla and Sunshine Mines. Ron married Merlita Bajura on May 24, 1995, in Cebu City, Philippines. Ron enjoyed being outdoors fishing and taking drives around the Silver Valley. 

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by a son, Jesse; a brother, Alton; and a sister, Phyllis.

Survivors include his loving wife, Merlita Childs of Kellogg, Idaho; two daughters, Donna and Linda; a sister, Dyann; as well as several grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, noon at St. Rita's Catholic Church, Kellogg.
