Gloria Culver, 71

Gloria June Culver was born on Jan. 27, 1953, to Ruth H. (Thompson) Bjorklund and Tracy A. Bjorklund in Maywood, Calif.

She graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, Calif., in 1972. She was an accomplished horsewoman and trainer of German Shepherd police dogs. She worked as an EMT and as a dispatcher for the sheriff’s department. She married Richard O. Culver Jr. and they had adventures that took them around the globe. Later in life, she bred and showed exotic Bengal cats including a six-time champion — Greg.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, one brother and her parents. She passed away at her home on April 1, 2024, surrounded by her Idaho “family.” She had a spitfire personality and loved her cats and her guns.  

She was laid to rest in Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens next to her parents on April 8, 2024, in a private ceremony.

A memorial and celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave. All are welcome to come and share stories of her full life.
