James Joseph Polla, 83
James Joseph Polla, 83, of Mullan, Idaho, and lifelong resident of the Silver Valley, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully Feb. 26, 2024, at Silverton Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia in Silverton, Idaho.
James was born Oct. 17, 1940, in Wallace, Idaho, a son of the late James Pierino Polla and Ellen Marle (Jutila) Polla. He graduated from Mullan High School and later went on to become a heavy equipment operator for the Coeur Mine. He married Margaret Rugland on Aug. 15, 1959, in Mullan, Idaho.
Active in his community, James was a member of the Mullan School Board and the Mullan Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Coeur Mine 25-Year Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by a brother, Wayne; and a sister, Arlene.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Polla of the family home in Mullan, Idaho; four sons, Dan (Tammy) Polla, David Polla, Don Polla, and Marty Polla; a grandson, Sam Polla; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
