NORMAL: Let’s hope Bruce Reed is right

Bruce Reed, Coeur d’Alene’s own son of Mary Lou Reed, Idaho’s great former senator, said what I hope is truth: “We live in abnormal political times…American people are still normal people…given a choice between normal or crazy, they’ll choose normal.”

Bruce said this in support of Joe Biden’s presidency and campaign for re-election. It gives me hope. I have learned with shame and fear that Sir Donald Trump, facing 88 criminal counts, has said such things as he will fire as many as 50,000 civil servants and replace them with loyalists, deputize the National Guard as a deportation force, root out what he calls “the radical left thugs that live like vermin in our country,” and many other dumb things. 

I agree, not thinking normal people would vote for such a man. Bruce Reed isn’t uninformed. He is a close aide to President Biden and has been at the White House many years. I hope Bruce Reed is correct.
