Randy Steven Hill passed away on Nov. 17, 2023, in Coeur d'Alene at the age of 72.  Randy was born on July 9th, 1951 in Kellogg, Idaho, the son of Ruth and Walter Hill of Page.  He was a lifelong resident of the Silver Valley and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1969.  Shortly after graduating, he joined the US Army Reserves where he served five years, plus one year active duty at Fort Ord, CA.  He was honorably discharged in 1978.

Randy worked in the mining and construction fields his entire life.  He worked at the Bunker Hill Mine in Kellogg and the Coeur Mine in Osburn as a hard rock miner and always took great pride in his work.  Before retiring last year, Randy spent 11 years driving a dump truck for Zanetti Bros.

Randy loved the outdoors where he loved to go camping, fly fishing the Coeur d'Alene and St. Joe Rivers and bass fish the chain lakes.  He was also a diehard sports fan rooting on the Yankees, Idaho Vandals and of course the Gonzaga Bulldogs.  But most of all, Randy was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his loved ones and the friends he met on his life's journey.

Randy is survived by: a son Jensen, (Shayonna) Hill and a grandson Porter of Rathdrum, a daughter Ashleigh Carver and grandsons Kasen, Kobe (Alexis) Carver, and great granddaughter Sawyer all of Pinehurst,  two brothers Mike (Margie) Hill of Post Falls and John (Theda) Hill of Osburn.

Randy is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  Randy was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a brother Chuck and sister Colleen, and a niece Tori Belfield of Portland, OR.

Rest in Peace Dad, Grandpa, brother and friend!

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and a notice will be posted in the Shoshone News Press.
