HOUSING: Can’t pin blame on Joe
One letter writer blamed the housing inflation on Joe Biden. It’s ridiculous to blame one man for especially our local housing costs. It’s not just that folks are moving here in droves. It’s that very rich folks are moving here in droves. They’re rich enough to pay high prices, in some cases, “name your price” amounts, to get land on the hills, build expensive houses/mansions, pay the prices.
Inflation means nothing to folks with high incomes, so the “supply and demand” cause, which the writer tells us, is highly credible. This is happening across the country. Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon; desirable land is sprouting very expensive houses in rural, away from the city landscapes and hillsides.
We’ve got the best of that desirable land. Check out the new rural housing between here and Worley-Plummer. I’m agreeing with that plausible reasoning, but I cannot say “Thanks, Joe” for the housing costs. It’s our problem, not Joe’s.
