PRIEST RIVER –– Wildcat senior Ryken White took home the top spot at the Ivan Benson Invitational, leading his team to the team championship along the way.
The Wildcats had four runners inside the top 11 finishers, including fourth-place finisher Nolan Harju. Freshman Alex Cassidy finished tenth.
The Wildcats will host the Ben Castro Invitational this week at Pinehurst Golf Course.

OROFINO –– The Wildcats moved to 2-0 in conference play with their shutout win over the Maniacs.
Sophomore quarterback Porter Lewis found receivers Ty Cheney, Evan Vindasius, Wyatt Storey, and Radley McDonald for touchdowns during the romp. Lewis also ran for one score, while brother Andrew Lewis punched in two on the ground as well.
Kellogg’s defense stymied Orofino’ run-based attack all game long and when the Maniacs did throw, the Wildcats’ defensive backs made them pay. Storey grabbed two interceptions during the game.
Kellogg (2-3) will host 4A Bonners Ferry this week for homecoming.

Seeley-Swan 40 St. Regis/Mullan 18
ST. REGIS –– The visiting Blackhawks were too much for the Tigers, grabbing a hug win in a pivotal Montana 8-Man West divisional matchup.
Tiger Coach Jesse Allan was complimentary of his opponent following the loss.
"Seeley was as physical as we thought they would be, and maybe a little bit more," Allan said. "We've seen them at camp every year and they've looked really good. They've been building it."
The Tigers trailed 28-6 at the intermission but pulled within 10 in the third quarter before Seeley stretched it back out.
St. Regis/Mullan will take a week off before jumping right back into the fire when they host Darby on October 11.

ST. MARIES — Paige Yrjana had five aces and three blocks as the visiting Wildcats beat the Lumberjacks 25-19, 25-15, 27-25 in Central Idaho League play.
Dani Henrikson added seven kills, Ella Yrjana 12 assists, Jordyn Stutzke 26 digs for Kellogg.
Mia Asbury had five kills, 11 assists, three aces and two blocks for St. Maries (5-11, 0-5). Brenna Elliott added four kills, eight assists and eight digs, Raevyn Yearout five kills and 13 digs, Allie Zook 13 digs, Naomi Mueller three aces, Meijah Yearout two blocks.

KELLOGG — Senior Ragen Oertli had 11 assists and freshman Hadley Bush two blocks for the Wildcats in a 25-18, 25-15, 19-25, 25-22 Central Idaho League win over the Spartans at Andrews Gymnasium.
“Hadley came in the third set and had a couple of big blocks and good kills,” Kellogg coach Stephanie Batchelder said. “Our back row really covered the court well and we had to battle for a lot of our points.”
Sophomore Jordyn Stutzke had 29 digs, freshman Aleah Philp 14 kills and sophomore Paige Yrjana four aces for Kellogg.

SPOKANE –– The Wildcats continued their run of strong play during the Crossover Classic in Spokane.
Kellogg knocked off East Valley and Chiawana, while tying Mead. In their tougher matchups, the Wildcats lost to White River and Walla Walla.
Paige Yrjana and Dani Henrikson each notched 17 kills during the tournament, while Hadley Bush finished with 11.
Jordyn Stutzke had 55 digs to go along with three aces. Yrjana also finished with 37 digs of her own.

POST FALLS — Senior Laya Daniels had seven kills, eight blocks, seven aces and five digs as the host Jaguars swept the Miners 25-21, 25-21, 25-16 in Scenic Idaho Conference play at The Courts at Real Life.
Ella Martin had six kills and seven digs for Genesis Prep. Madi Cooper had 11 digs and three kills, Pearl Covey 15 digs, Kinzie Lawler five blocks and three aces, Kennedy Prendergast 22 assists and three blocks.
“This is the first time we’ve ever swept Wallace,” Genesis Prep coach Paula Thurston said. “They are always such a fun team to play and it feels so good to get a huge league win at home. I am so proud of how well the girls played together tonight. They are working hard and improving every single day and it shows.”
Kylee Phillips had five kills, four aces and 16 digs for Wallace. Kayla Hasz had five kills, Aubrey Birdsell 12 assists, Bethany Phillips three kills and two blocks, Khepri Wood 10 digs.

CLARK FORK — Kayla Hasz had eight kills and four blocks, Bethany Phillips 12 digs and six kills for the Miners in a 25-22, 25-20, 25-17 Scenic Idaho Conference win over the Wampus Cats.
Kylee Phillips had nine kills and nine aces and Kayden Stutzke 19 assists and seven digs for Wallace.

HARRISON FLATS — The host Warriors swept the Tigers in North Star League play this season after winning a five-set match 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-13, 15-8.
“The girls had a great game,” Kootenai coach Elexus Moore-Rich said. “There were three players that had amazing serves and hits — Chloe Dorman, Claire Cook, and Aubrey Braz. I’m proud of how all of the girls played.”

PLUMMER — The Tigers earned their first win of the season, beating the Knights JV in five sets at Ron Miller Court.
SILVER VALLEY SWIM TEAM

COEUR D’ALENE –– Swimmers from Kellogg and Wallace took on opponents from Moscow, Coeur d’Alene, Lakeland, Post Falls, and Lewiston on Saturday.
The local swimmers notched five new personal records while also breaking another school record.
“Aliyah Birdsell and Aaron Berry set new personal records in the 50m freestyle Aliyah Birdsell, Annika Kessler, and Sophia Berry set new personal records in the 100m freestyle,” Coach Bryan Stepro said. “Annika Kessler, for the third time this year, has set another new school record in the 500m. The new record for Wallace High School is 8:06.08.”
The next meet for the Silver Valley Swimmers is on October 19th at the Kroc Center.
