Shoshone CP: Jeff Zimmerman, Republican Candidate – Shoshone County Commissioner District 3

| October 25, 2024 1:00 AM

I was born and raised in Idaho & have always been an avid outdoorsman. I have hunted, fished, ATV, dirt biked, horseback, camped, backpacked, throughout the state of Idaho. I believe our public lands are a treasure & should be treated as such. If you pack it in, you pack it out & assist in maintaining and preserving our beautiful lands. I have 1 grandson & 3 adult sons (2 live in the S.V). I am a strong believer in our Constitution and small government. We are a government by the people for the people, our rights set forth in our State and Federal Constitution are “inalienable” rights. I also believe our Nation needs to be energy independent, and resource independent. We have natural resources in our County that are renewable & we need to be able to take care of these resources responsibly, & use them for the benefit of our own community.

My background is over 28 years of bankruptcy case administration, which has involved accounting, individual & business auditing, lien documentation (titles, UCC1, deeds, mortgages, etc), claims, asset valuation & sales (both real property & personal property), accounting software, IT, budgeting, reconciling bank accounts, appointing & overseeing professionals such as auditors, attorneys, accountants, legal research, auctioneers, real estate agents, etc. I have worked with numerous debtors, attorneys, banks, lending institutions, state and federal tax entities, etc...always working in compliance with state and federal codes.

I have been a County Commissioner for nearly two years. During that time we have continued to seek for avenues to generate revenue for our County, in hopes to save the tax payers money. We have made the BOCC transparent by posting our meetings on YouTube, an email roster for our weekly agenda, BOCC agendas and other County info is posted to my Facebook page. I was opposed to raising taxes this year, I believe that raising taxes during a recession only compounds the problem. Our County revenue issue is going to take State and Federal help. I am currently reaching out to both entities to assist us with this issue. Property tax in Shoshone County is less than 1/3 of our budget, and it’s unsustainable. I would be honored to continue in serving you as your Shoshone County Commissioner, I am asking for your vote once again.
