Shoshone CP: Loree Peery, Democratic Candidate – State Representative District 2 Seat A
I grew up in Post Falls where my mom was a stay-at-home mom, and my dad was a school teacher in Spokane Valley. I’m the oldest of three, with two brothers. We spent our summers in the woods camping, hiking, and enjoying the lakes and rivers.
After my parents divorced, I worked at Kootenai Memorial Hospital and lived at home which allowed me to be able to put myself through North Idaho College. Since then, I have worked in various hospitals in Idaho, Arizona, and Southern California, caring for individuals through hospital nursing, and communities as a public health worker, and advocate.
I returned to Idaho in 2006, with my husband. I was shocked to see the changes in my state. I remember the days when all Idahoans enjoyed freedoms, and civility. Those days are gone. Things have continued to change since I returned. Some families can no longer speak to one another.
The political climate is divisive, and toxic. Our freedoms such as bodily autonomy, voting rights, access to affordable healthcare, the ability to choose who you love, what books you read, workers rights, and quality education for our children.
As a nurse with decades of experience as a caregiver, and advocate, I would like to use those skills to help my state and community.
