ICF grants $130,000 to Kootenai, Shoshone agencies

The Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) is thrilled to announce that more than $275,000 has been awarded to 40 nonprofit and educational organizations serving North Idaho communities through the Forever Idaho North grant cycle. This funding supports organizations across a variety of impact areas, including health and wellness, housing stability, arts and culture, education, and community benefit.
“Forever Idaho is not just a grant program—it’s a movement of philanthropy that is building a culture of giving across our state,” said Lisa Bearg, Senior Philanthropic Advisor of ICF. “The generosity of our donors and the hard work of these nonprofits are what make Idaho such a special place. Together, we are ensuring that our communities continue to thrive.
The grant recipients were carefully selected by ICF’s Regional Council for North Idaho, a group of dedicated volunteer community members from the region. These individuals are chosen for their deep understanding of local needs, leadership, and involvement in the social sector. The council reviews grant applications with a keen eye for how each project aligns with the unique needs of North Idaho communities, ensuring that the funds are distributed in ways that will create lasting and meaningful impact. Final grant awards are approved by ICF’s Board of Directors, making the process both community-driven and thoughtfully executed.
This year’s grants are supporting a wide range of impactful projects. From housing programs to community enrichment, these funds are making a tangible difference across North Idaho. The organizations and projects supported by this grant cycle include:
Benewah County
BetterCARE, Inc. – $10,000 to support health and wellness.
SPAN Benewah County – $1,500 for health and wellness initiatives.
Bonner County
Clark Fork Hope Area Senior Services, Inc. – $6,367 to support health and wellness.
Kaniksu Land Trust, Inc. – $12,500 for community benefit programs.
Priest River Ministries, Inc. – $10,000 to support housing stability
Boundary County
Boundary Community Hospital – $6,000 to support health and wellness.
Boundary County Youth Crisis and Domestic Violence Hotline – $2,593 for community benefit services.
Explore 4-H Afterschool Fun – $6,000 for educational and economic opportunities.
Gardeners for Regional Organic Wellbeing – $2,500 to support health and wellness.
Clearwater County
City of Orofino – $15,000 for the first phase of the Orofino Adventure Park.
Elk River Syringa Club – $10,000 for community benefit programs.
Lewis-Clark State College Foundation Inc. – $5,000 to support educational programming at the Correctional Institution in Orofino.
Idaho County
Friends of Idaho Public Television - $5,000 to support the distribution of kindergarten readiness kits in North Idaho.
Selway-Bitterroot Foundation – $2,500 for environment and animal welfare.
Syringa General Hospital District – $10,908 to support health and wellness.
Kootenai County
Charity Reimagined – $5,000 for community benefit programs.
Children’s Village Incorporated – $15,000 to support community benefit projects.
First Judicial District CASA Program Inc. – $7,500 for community benefit programs.
Growing the STEM – $7,000 for educational and economic opportunities.
Idaho Youth Ranch Inc. – $3,000 for health and wellness.
Kootenai Joint School District #274 – $7,419 to support the preschool program.
Lake City Center, Inc. – $15,000 for health and wellness.
North Idaho Community Services Corp, Inc. – $20,000 for housing stability.
Latah County
Family Promise of the Palouse, Inc. – $6,000 to support housing stability.
Latah County Historical Society – $2,000 for arts and culture programs.
Lewis County
Kamiah Joint School District #304 – $6,000 to upgrade the weight training and fitness facility at Kamiah High School.
Nezperce Joint School District #302 – $1,500 for STEM programming in grades 6-8.
Upriver Youth Leadership Council, Inc. – $12,500 for educational and economic opportunities.
Nez Perce County
Northwest Children's Home – $7,734 for health and wellness.
The Salvation Army - Lewiston Corps – $5,011 for housing stability.
Shoshone County
Avery Citizen's Committee, Inc. – $7,500 for community benefit programs.
Avery School District #394 – $5,000 for new flooring in the multi-purpose room.
Barnard Stockbridge Museum – $3,000 for arts and culture programs.
Friends of the River Coalition – $3,000 to support environment and animal welfare programs.
Kellogg Project Uplift – $5,000 for health and wellness programs.
Mullan School District #392 – $5,000 for the implementation of a preschool program.
Shoshone County Women's Resource Center Inc. – $10,000 for health and wellness programs.
Silver Valley Seniors, Inc. – $4,719 for health and wellness programs.
Team Wallace Inc. – $5,000 to support the food pantry at Wallace Elks Lodge.
Wallace Food Bank, Inc. – $1,000 for health and wellness efforts
