Orval Lancour, 82

Orval Dale Lancour, 82, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home Sept. 16, 2024.

Orval was born at home Oct. 25, 1941, in Wells Township, Mich., to Clarence and Blanche (Hobbs) Lancour and grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He spent four years in the Marine Corps. He married Joyce (Lund) in July 1964. He worked for Armor Meat Packing for a year before they moved to the Silver Valley in North Idaho. He spent 30 years mining in the Silver Valley and seven years in Alaska, several other states and South America.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce; his son, Kevin; daughter Kristen (Lee) Thompson; grandson Troy Lancour; granddaughters Jocelyn Thompson and Kahrena Thompson; and step-granddaughter, Jame Alluisi.

He is predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Dwight, Pete, Ralph, Lawrence and Danny Lancour; and sisters Joyce Ketola, Blanche Latvala, Margaret Blake, Dorothy Dupont and Marilyn.

Honoring Orval’s wishes, no service will be held. The interment will be held at a later time.
