Sharla Brady, 76

| September 24, 2024 1:00 AM

Sharla Brady, 76, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family Sept. 18, 2024. Sharla was born Nov. 27, 1947, to Pat and Laverne O’Mera in Butte, Mont. She was raised with her five siblings in Seattle, Wash.

In 1965, she married David Doerschel, and they had three children, Rhonda, Scott and Jeff, later divorcing. In 1974, on a plane trip to visit her mother, she met the love of her life, Terry. Sharla and her three children joined Terry and his three children in Fallon, Nev., for two years, where they married and had another child. They then moved to Pine Creek, Idaho, where they bought property to build their home and start their construction company, Concrete Unlimited. Sharla stayed home with the kids while also doing the bookkeeping for the company.

The Brady house was welcoming to everyone, and Sharla would create meals from scratch. Christmas Eve was a community event, including Santa and sleigh rides for the kids. She made sure every child had a gift bag and also had a knack for making everyone feel special and included.

Much of her time was spent attending sporting events for her grandkids near and far. She loved trips to Alaska and the Oregon Coast. She and Terry also enjoyed camping, boating and fishing with their faithful dog, Teddy. The family was Sharla's number one focus. Her only indulgences for herself were shopping to buy gifts for others and getting her hair done. After the loss of her husband, Terry, of nearly 40 years, Sharla and their beloved dog, Teddy, moved into a smaller home where she enjoyed making it her own.

Sharla was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Terry Brady; brother Pat O’Mera; sister Noreen O’Mera; and great-grandson Brooks Samuelson.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Alan) Nelson, Scott (Cami) Doerschel, Jeff (Gina) Doerschel and Amy (Todd) James; siblings Mel (Ann) O’Mera, Shirley (Roger) Doerschel and Kelly (Cheryl) O’Mera; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A celebration for Sharla is planned for spring 2025. Our family would like to acknowledge her dear friends Ron and Diane Sharp, who were instrumental in her care during her health decline, as well as the wonderful staff at Mountain Valley Cascadia.

The family asks that memorials be made in Sharla’s name to Silver Valley Seniors, Meals on Wheels in Osburn, Idaho.

Memories of Sharla and messages of condolence may be shared with her family online at www.shoshonefuneralservice.com. Shoshone Funeral Services, Kellogg, is assisting Sharla’s family with arrangements.
