SILVERTON — The Miners rebounded nicely following last week’s loss to Lakeside with an absolute drumming of St. John Endicott at Sather Field.
Freshman quarterback Cooper Miller ran for four touchdowns and junior Alex Grubbs accounted for three touchdowns for the Miners. Senior receiver Julian Davis caught two touchdowns in the win.
The Miners (4-1) have their bye this week, as they prepare for a huge road contest against the Genesee Bulldogs on October 4, that could have major postseason implications.

Timberlake 61 Kellogg 14
KELLOGG — Jonathan Hansen rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown, and the Tigers churned out 444 yards on the ground in the nonleague win over the Wildcats at Teeters Field.
The Wildcats, who came into the game following a huge win over St. Maries the week before, were hapless on defense as the Tigers continuously pounded the ball right through the heart of Kellogg’s defensive line.
After a competitive first quarter, the floodgates burst for the Tigers, who erupted for 27 points in the frame.
When the Wildcats did have the ball, they couldn’t get out of their own way, racking up numerous penalties that erased big plays and put them in difficult down and distance situations.
“Our offensive line ... the way we block stuff is not easy,” Timberlake coach Kelly Amos said. “They have progressed so far; they’re the reason why we had over 400 yards rushing.”
Jeremy Hurlbert had four sacks for Timberlake, Ryker Brennan two interceptions and two rushing touchdowns, Westin Herbert one pick.
Sophomore quarterback Porter Lewis, who spent the majority of the game scrambling to create opportunities, finished with 162 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions for the Wildcats. Draedan Taylor and Coleman Blalack caught touchdowns for Kellogg in the loss.
Kellogg travels to Orofino this week for a Central Idaho League game.
