PINEHURST – Idaho State Fire Marshals said a faulty neon sign resulted in a fire on Thursday evening at Jim’s Towing and Auto Repair.

According to reports, Shoshone County Fire District #2 and other emergency services responded to the fire just after 6 p.m. The fire began in the office area of the building and did not spread into the auto shop portion.

The ISFM reported that the fire damage was limited to the office, but there is some smoke damage throughout the rest of the building.

Jim’s Towing and Auto Repair owner Brandon Church said that the business will continue as usual despite the lack of office space.

“Our towing operations continued since the night of the fire,” Church said. “The fire destroyed three of our offices and our waiting room. The auto shop is untouched from the fire, so we were able to open back up in our shop on Monday, and we have a motorhome in our parking lot for one of our office staff members to work in.”

Church plans to renovate the office over the coming months, but will be working with a reduced staff due to a lack of space inside their temporary motorhome office.

“We will be back better than ever soon,” Chruch said.

Jim’s Towing and Auto Repair is located at 607 N Division St. In Pinehurst, Idaho.
