COEUR d'ALENE — North Idaho College received a gift from Shoshone Medical Center last week.

Shoshone Medical CEO Paul Lewis said the hospital has been working on how to donate its old portable X-ray machine to NIC's radiography technology program.

"We have a new portable unit at SMC, and it’s a good opportunity to partner with NIC so students can train on equipment similar to what they will be using in their professional field," Lewis said. "They do a great job with future health care professionals, and this is a fantastic opportunity to support the education of the next generation of health care heroes."
