A Smelterville man was arrested Saturday after threats on Facebook against state Rep. Jordan Redman, R-Coeur d’Alene, and his family.

Ryan Gaddy, 40, was arrested by members of the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office and later transferred to the Kootenai County jail.

One of Gaddy's social pages included commentary about firebombing Redman's office. Gaddy also made a video outside Redman's place of business, Redman and Company Insurance.

Gaddy was charged with felony threat of a public servant and a misdemeanor threat against a state official.

“Our deputies worked to find Mr. Gaddy as quickly as possible to get him out of our community once the warrant was issued for his arrest,” Shoshone County Sheriff Capt. Seth Green said.

According to the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office, Gaddy was extradited to Kootenai County and is being held on a $250,000 bond.

“The Cd'A Police Department did a great job with this case and let us know as soon as the warrant was issued, allowing us to have a quick response,” Green stated.

The SCSO also encountered Gaddy on Nov. 27 after they said he made threatening social media posts and statements to law enforcement. The resulting standoff ended peacefully.
