Barbara Evans Chambers, 76

Barbara Evans Chambers, the “Original Precious,” 76, of Las Vegas, Nev., and former long-time Kellogg, Idaho, resident, passed away on January 3, 2025, at Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nev. Barbara was born on March 4, 1948, in Pitcher, Okla., the daughter of the late Mack Evans and Evadna (McBrien) Evans.

Barbara moved to the Silver Valley from Pitcher, Oklahoma. She raised two sons and enjoyed dirt bikes, good wine, traveling, and scuba diving. She married Ken Chambers on February 10, 1979, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Barbara was a software analyst who worked for many years at the Bunker Hill and Sunshine Mines. Sunshine Mining shut down the Boise office, and she moved to England and worked on the Chunnel connecting England and France. After the completion of the English Chunnel, she toured Europe with her mother and husband. Later in life, Barbara and Ken moved to Beatty, Nevada, and then to Las Vegas, where she retired from the Golden Nugget Casino.

Barbara had a good heart and was a kind person. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Barbara was the only girl of four children: brothers Richard, Larry, and Don Evans.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Chambers; her brother, Don Evans; her children, Darrin Quimby, his wife Gail, and Keith Quimby; her grandchildren, Brandon Quimby, Anthony Quimby, and Gerald Quimby; and her great-grandchildren, Asher Quimby and Blaze Baker.

Inurnment will occur at Greenwood Cemetery with her parents, Mack and Evadna Evans.
