Delays Expected on Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes During Cataldo Bridge Work
CATALDO – Trail users near Cataldo should anticipate brief, intermittent delays on the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes starting as early as next week due to construction on the I-90 bridge overhead. The work is expected to last approximately one week.
During this period, crews will be performing tasks directly above the trail and may need to temporarily pause trail traffic for safety. Flaggers will be stationed on-site to manage these short holds and will allow users to proceed as soon as it is safe to do so.
These temporary delays are not expected to result in long-term closures or major disruptions. The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is coordinating closely with the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation to minimize impacts and maintain trail access throughout the project.
Trail users are encouraged to follow posted signage, heed flagger instructions, and plan for minor delays when traveling through the area.
Construction will also intermittently affect traffic on Latour Creek Road, where flaggers will be used to manage vehicle flow.
