Silver Valley makes a change for youth football
KELLOGG – For the past 23 years, youth football in the Silver Valley has operated under one banner, but things are changing for the 2025 season.
23 years ago, Kellogg Middle School (KMS) discontinued its seventh and eighth grade football programs, and the Silver Valley Storm Junior Tackle program was born. Over the years, the program expanded to include teams for grades 3-6. It also changed hands a few times, ultimately coming to an end as the Kellogg Storm.
This year, KMS Activities Director Scott Miller announced that the school would be resuming its middle school football program for grades 7-8.
Seeing a need to continue the programs for the younger ranks, Kyle Mann stepped into the role of president for the Silver Valley’s club and renamed it Kellogg Junior Tackle Football (KJTF), managing the teams for Kellogg’s grades 3-6.
Mann is excited to announce a few changes this year, including that the program has gone entirely digital for its signup process and that they will be holding a youth football camp this summer for all non-high school-aged players.
“We are also looking for sponsors for our league,” Mann said. “We have different levels of sponsorship available, with differing levels of acknowledgement and business advertisement. including a spot on our new website, Facebook page, and a sponsor banner to hang at the field.”
Registration for the camp and upcoming season is now open, but it closes on June 30. The youth football camp is scheduled for July 14–17.
