Patricia 'Patty' Sue Allen, 76

Patricia “Patty” Sue Allen, 76, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away May 18, 2025, from complications of pneumonia. Born in the Denver, Colo., area March 12, 1949, Patty grew up in a loving family with her parents, Thomas and Betty Downey, and her older brother, Tom. 

Patty spent time in Wyoming and Arizona before moving to Idaho in 1975, where she made her home in the Silver Valley. Caring for people was a passion for Patty and she made that her career by working at the nursing home and as an EMT and ambulance driver for over 20 years in Osburn and Kellogg. 

Patty was a beautiful friend to many and a bright spirit who just loved people and her pets. She tried to give everyone a smile and bring light wherever she was. 

Survivors include her dog, Buddy, her cat, Boe, her son, John Gast, her son, Bill Thurmond, and her grandchildren, Ryann and Alishya, and her daughter, Trisha Thurmond-Sanders and her grandchildren, Sterling and Das. Patty is preceded in death by her parents, brother and many dear pets she cared for over the years. 

A celebration of Patty’s life will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 2 p.m., at Shoshone Funeral Services, 106 S. Main St., Kellogg, Idaho. Patty’s family requests that donations be made in her memory to Shoshone Pet Rescue.
