The Hilltop’s new owner, Dan Zadra, points to a photo of miners hanging next to the front door and above a plaque that reads “This building is dedicated to the veteran miners of the Coeur d’Alenes.” The photo depicts Dan Albertini, Bart O’Rourke, George Albertini, Laurence Parisotto, Albert Albertini, Jim O’Neal and Paddi McNeal in front of the old Haywire gypo mine in 1920. Zadra is related to the Albertini family, which in the past has owned Albi’s Bar and the Jameson in Wallace. Davy Albertini, 72, still tends bar almost everyday at the Hilltop.
