In the 1950s, the Samuels Hotel (pictured on the left) was still a part of the Downtown Wallace vibe, although its best days were behind it, it remained a valuable commodity for people coming and going from the town.

It was the grandest building in Shoshone County – by a margin that wasn’t particularly close. But, unlike so many other buildings in the historic city, it did not endure.
