Kellogg football practice schedule
High school football is just around the corner and the Kellogg Wildcats would like to let any potential players know what their practice schedule is for the coming weeks. The Wildcats’ first game is slated for August 24, @ St. Maries High School.

Kellogg, Wallace, and Mullan high schools were represented last weekend at the State Track Meet at Middleton High School and despite the mixed outcome, all of the schools showed they belongs at the event.

Central Water District announces water shutoff Monday
The Central Shoshone County Water District has announced that crews we will be repairing a water line in Moon Gulch on June, 8 at 8 a.m. All customers in that area will be without water for the majority of the day.

BOISE – New initial claims for unemployment insurance benefits totaled 3,250 for the week ending Aug. 8, decreasing 10 percent - or 357 claims - from the previous week.

Superfund delisting request draws response from local officials
KELLOGG — A recent proposal by a local resident titled “To Request IDEQ To Petition the EPA to Delist the Residential Soils Operable Unit (OU 1) from the Bunker Hill Mining and Metallurgical Complex Superfund Site” has drawn the ire of local officials who don’t agree with the proposal’s contents, and both sides appear to be gearing up for a fight.

Extended holiday hours for Christmas tree permit sales
COEUR d’ALENE — The Coeur d’Alene River Ranger District’s Fernan Office, located at 2502 E. Sherman Ave., Coeur d’Alene, will be selling Christmas tree permits today, and Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
