Rose Anna House Frutchey, 84, of Cataldo, ID, passed away on December 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at her beloved ranch in Cataldo, ID. Rose was born on November 14, 1937 in Rumford, ME, a daughter of the late Charles V. House and Helen (Linti) House. She was the first of four daughters to the family and started school at four years of age.

Dean Hans Petersen, 77 years old, was led home to the Lord on October 30, 2020 at his home in White City, Oregon, after a battle with cancer. He was born September 17, 1943 in Spokane, Washington; Dean was the son of Samuel and Hanna (Stevens) Petersen.

IPNF announces temporary closure for Fishhook Road
AVERY— The Idaho Panhandle National Forest will be issuing a temporary road closure on Forest Service Road #301, Fishhook Creek, in Shoshone County on the St. Joe Ranger District due to fire activity from the Roundhouse Fire. Rocks, trees, and other debris from the fire area are falling into the roadway and pose a threat to public safety.

Local groups support VFW with annual poppy drive
The Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 10 and the Easy Riders 4-H Club worked together to raise $550 for the local VFW by taking donations for the annual Veteran’s Poppy Drive.
