Christina K. Fisher, 69
Christina Kay Fisher (DeJanovich) passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on January 17, 2018. After battling illness for the past few years, she passed into Heaven to be with her friends and family before her. Chris was born to Michael and Cleo DeJanovich on January 14, 1949 in Wallace, ID. She grew up in Kellogg, ID, the little sister to siblings Michael, Sandra, and Dale. She attended high school in Kellogg and Coeur d’Alene. Chris loved playing bingo, dancing, bowling, fishing, and shopping. She also loved watching Gonzaga basketball and the Seattle Seahawks, especially her “sweetie pie,” Russell Wilson. However, her biggest joy came from her grandchildren. She could be found cheering for them during just about every band and choir concert, as well as soccer games, parades, football games, and wrestling matches. Chris is preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Michael and Dale DeJanovich. She is survived by her husband, Larry; her sister, Sandra Ball; her children, Michelle Cravens, Ian (Paula) Newell, and Mark Smith; and her grandchildren Danielle and Joey Cravens; Anthony (Felicia) and Aric Smith, and Brynn Coballes-Smith. Our family lost its matriarch and one of the most influential people in our lives. We were extremely lucky to be loved, raised, and cared for by such a beautiful woman. She will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren as the greatest grandma they could’ve ever asked for. Rest in peace, Mom/Grandma, we love you. Special thanks to Horizon Hospice and her doctor of 34 years, Dr. Timothy Ritchey, for their exceptional and compassionate care. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 Saturday, January 27th at Fairmount Memorial Park’s Sunset Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane. Kathryn Rose Reichenberg, 79
Kathryn Rose Reichenberg, 79, died January 3, 2018 at Friendship Village in Tempe, AZ. She was born July 8, 1938 to Howard and Winifred Callahan in Genesee, Idaho. The second of 5 children. There she was raised on a ranch. Her family moved to Kellogg, Idaho and she graduated from Kellogg High School. She married Kenneth Smith Sr. and they had 4 children. They lived in the Kellogg area where Kathy worked various jobs, such as a bartender, server, score keeper at the bowling alley in Kellogg and flagger. Kathy was an avid bowler and bowled on leagues with her mother and friends. After she and Kenny divorced, she married Emil Reichenberg of Osburn. She worked with Emil at the Midway Bar in Osburn that Emil owned until they sold it. They lived in Osburn and also lived in Hauser Lake. They left the area together and traveled in a 5th wheel to various places around the northwest as Emil worked for Hughes Construction. They eventually retired and bought a home in Hayden where they lived until they became snowbirds and moved to a retirement community, Caliente, in Florence AZ where she has resided for the past 21 years. Emil passed away in 2006 and Kathy remained in Florence. There she became involved in the retirement community golfing, 4wheeling, happy hours, neighborhood get togethers, selling tickets for weekly dinners, worked for the association and made wonderful friends from all over the US and Canada. She always looked forward to buddy beer and dinners at the clubhouse, conversing with friends and sharing stories. She would putt around in her golf cart, play games and cards with family and friends and was very competitive. She looked forward to her weekly scrabble game with her sister Bev before Beverly died. She enjoyed going to the casino when she could and playing Bingo. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She was a great fan of the Seahawks and she and Emil had a van in their earlier years all decked out in Seahawk decals and many signatures from Seahawk players and Seagals. In Kathy’s younger years in her younger adult years she enjoyed playing the piano and accordion. Kathy fought and beat lung cancer a few years ago only to have found that it recently returned and spread. That is when God decided he wasn’t going to make her suffer anymore and he took her to unite with her family in a place where there is no suffering.

Snow's the issue
OSBURN — With Old Man Winter hitting the Silver Valley hard over the New Year, local snowplows have been out in force attempting to keep up with the massive workload. As many may have noticed on social media — and perhaps in passing conversations — the sight of a snowplow heading toward your home could either fill you with delight or dread possibly both. On one hand, that snowplow will be clearing the roadway near your house so you and other motorists can use it. On the other, that same plow may bury you in your drive way or parking space and leave you hacking away at the newly formed mountain of snow, ice, and slush.
