Vote YES for the KSD Replacement Levy
I have worked as a teacher at Kellogg High School for the last three and a half years and care deeply about the growth and success of this district. I am an advocate for the arts, an advisor and supporter of extracurricular activities, and a patron of organized sports. These extremely valuable programs will be in jeopardy if the KSD Replacement Levy is not passed on March 10. The passing of this levy is vital for the continued advancement of the Kellogg School District. Supporting extracurricular activities and sports in a small town is critical to upholding quality teachers and staff, decreasing dropout rates, and providing creative and competitive outlets for students to explore.

OPINION: Frontier isn’t ‘better’ than Suddenlink
Depending on where you live, the speeds and performance can be atrocious and hardly qualify as “broadband.” Most of this depends on your distance from the Central Office and/or the quality/age of your copper lines servicing your house. If these aren’t optimal, the limits for DSL speeds are not great. Then there is the oversaturation issue too. We went years being told a family member couldn’t sign up for Frontier because they were basically to capacity. Speed-wise, if you have 1-3 users in your household, then a Frontier DSL service will probably be OK for you. But the minute you try 2-way conferencing, photo/video uploading or similar, you will see the limitations. The most significant limitation? Upload speed. DSL just doesn’t do that well.

Frontier isn't 'better' than Suddenlink

Buying and Selling
It’s buying and selling time again for the local hoops programs. As the season draws near its end for the ladies, and the league schedules get into full swing for the boys the picture is a little more clear than in past “Buying and Selling” articles, but it should give us a more accurate picture for some of our girls teams. As usual the buying and selling criteria is based on team record, current performance, and what lies ahead for them (in regard to their path to the state tournament). Buying means that I think they have a shot at postseason success, while selling means something more toward the opposite. If your squad got a “buying” tag then prove me right, and if I gave them a “selling” tag, please prove me wrong.
