Vida Dot Taylor, 88, of the Silver Valley, passed away July 27, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society — Silver Wood Village in Silverton, Idaho. She was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Colville, Wash. Vida was the daughter of Verner E. and Vera (Baldwin) Blair.

The southeast corner of Deceitful Fire continued to actively push against containment lines Saturday. However, determined firefighters on the ground, aided by aerial resources, were able to catch several spot fires just south of White Peak Ridge.
