Water district petition moves to new judge
The dysfunctional situation within the currently defunct Cataldo Water District (CWD) is now in the hands of a Kootenai County judge. Shoshone County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Allen recently filed an emergency judicial petition on behalf of the patrons of the CWD following the approved recall petitions and subsequent resignations of all five of the board’s members in December of last year.

New showroom opens its doors at DSM
It took roughly nine months, but the new Jeep/Wagoneer Showroom at Dave Smith Motors is open and taking care of customers. When DSM General Manager Troy Hojem broke ground on the building in April of last year, he was excited to be at the forefront of the Wagoneer expansion.

Work set to continue at Gray's Meadow
The project has been making steady progress over the past two years, including the recent completion of several basic infrastructure upgrades, including moving the Lamb Peak Field discharge pump from its current location at Black Lake to the Coeur d’Alene River, as well as upgrading and improving an access road and bridge that runs along the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes between the Lamb Peak Fields and Cave Lake Field.
N. Idaho systems awarded DEQ grants
A trio of North Idaho systems are among the half-dozen selected for grants to fund studies to evaluate community drinking water and wastewater systems. The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality announced the award of $191,300 to six drinking water and wastewater systems on Wednesday. Among those selected for a grant were the Sagle Valley Water and Sewer District in Bonner County, the Curley Creek Water Association in Boundary County, and the Kingston Water District in Shoshone County.
Silver Mountain Ski Report 2/3
It was powder central at Silver Mountain last weekend! We received 15” from the storm last weekend before the sun peeked out. Conditions on the slopes are great as the low temps have kept the snow light and fluffy. We’ve spent over $1.5 million on new grooming equipment in the past two years, and it has been put to good use.
